The university incubator service INiTS provides advice and support for graduates aiming to set up their own companies. The purpose of INiTS is to enable sustainable increase in the number of academic spin-offs in Austria, and to enhance the quality and likelihood of success on the part of these start-ups.

INiTS pursues a procedural approach, supporting start-ups for a period of 18 months based on providing ongoing consulting and support. INiTS offers its entrepreneurs the feedback supplied by certified experts (project advisory board), support in further developing business ideas (creating business plans), tailor-made further education programs (INiTS Business Academy), office infrastructure, networking platforms and advisory services on suitable funding and financing instruments. The consulting and support services provided by INiTS are free of charge for the start-up projects accepted by the academic incubator.

The target group of the academic incubator service INiTS is all academically-oriented facilities in Vienna. INITS primarily focuses on the fields of information and communication technologies as well as life sciences, but also targets other areas of research.

The university incubator service for start ups and spin-offs is operated by ZIT in cooperation with the Technical University of Vienna within the framework of the AplusB program.
