VRViS (Visualization, Rendering and Visual Analysis Research Center) shows how top research findings in the field of visual computing can be exploited on behalf of the business community. The projects promoted by the Republic of Austria and the City of Vienna have had sustainable success. In the meantime, Vienna has emerged as one of the most important locations in the field of visual computing, and is home to Europe’s second largest computer graphics group (VRViS, Institute for Computer Graphics of the Technical University of Vienna and the Austrian Academy of Sciences).
