Content Award Vienna 2010: Open for Entries!
The beginning of the submission deadline for the Content Award Vienna 2010 is May 3, 2010. The City of Vienna is continuing its drive to strengthen the local media business and creative landscape in 2010. Media professionals are once again invited to take part in the Content Awards Vienna 2010 and submit entries in the period May 3, 2010 to July 30, 2010 to win one of the coveted prizes in the fields of games, animated shorts, mobile application or animated characters. This year the ZIT Centre for Innovation and Technology is bestowing a total of EUR 30,000 in prize money.
The request for entries to win the Content Award Vienna 2010 appeals to producers of digital and media content commercially exploiting their formats and dealing with convergent distribution possibilities in the digital age.
Six monetary prizes of EUR 5,000 each will be granted in the categories games and applications, animated shorts and the open category – the audience award. Producers can also specifically submit entries to win the special FemPower prize granted for the best mobile application and the best animated character. A series of attractive non-cash prizes will also be awarded.
Entries can be submitted effective immediately at the Website www.contentaward.at. The entries for projects produced in the years 2009 and 2010 will be evaluated and prizes awarded by a jury consisting of international experts. Similar to the procedure in 2009, the winner of the audience award will be determined by public voting on the Website (the start of voting is August 6, 2010). Producers and companies based in Vienna are eligible to participate. Productions which were primarily developed or completed in Vienna are also eligible to take part in the prize competition, as are productions in which Vienna plays a relevant role with respect to their contents.
The prizes will be bestowed upon the winners on Award Night, to take place on September 7, 2010 in Media Quarter Marx. At the same time, ZIT is holding an international conference on the topics of games, mobile applications and animation on the day of the gala award ceremony. International guests and keynote speakers from these media industries are expected to attend.
We look forward to your exciting entries in 2010!
